North Central Kansas | In my area there are a lot of hand dug wells. Most are 50-100’ deep. There is one North of me that is 160’ deep. We pulled the pipe and put a new concrete cap on a 45’ deep well last summer. All I could think about was falling in as we worked on it. The 160’ well you can look down in it from a hatch. I cannot believe anyone could go down a 6’ round hole and dig it that deep. I don’t understand how they dug the part that was under water. Many of these have 10-15’ of water in them. | |
