Subject: RE: Dielectric grease use?

Floyd County, Iowa
I guess I'm the odd man out. i use it all the time, and have yet had issues. I believe that if the "insulating" properties of the stuff prohibits contact, the connection is not going to pass muster in the first place. All slip-fit electrical connections rely on friction to keep the male and female connectors in contact. If a film of dielectric grease/gel is enough to keep those parts from making contact, a naked fit isn't going to be very reliable either. My opinion.
