It is NOT a petroleum grease (look up what the word grease really means), nor NO-OX, nor does it include silicone. My tubes are actually labeled "valve grinding compound", strange as that seems. It is a must to use on electrical connection, spark plug boots, and radiator hoses. Learned about many, many years ago in EE classes. All tool boxes have a tube in them
