Idaho | Make sure that the land sides in good or better condition. Same goes for the shin boards. Adjust the hitch so the plow pulls a straight as possible. It will then pull easier.
Get a tape and level. Adjust fore and aft--Left and right. Speed is your friend. A 16 inch will just dog walk worse and pull as hard.
A Wilrich 8-18 will pull harder than a 9-18 because it is longer and pulls straighter.
First time I heard that I said bs. I added a 9th bottom to my 8 and it is true. Years ago when there was plowing in the hills of the PNW. Plowing uphill was a challenge. Trying to reverse 100 years of moving the soils down. It needed plws in good condition with power,speed and the brain power to layout field so it was possible.
