Subject: Re: Fall tillage (What is completed in your area?) SURVEY

We plant a great deal of corn on corn. The conventional beans this year were 10 bushel better than the no-tilled. We have tried no-till corn, and we don't get the yields we do with conventional. We have about 75% of our fall tillage done, with the dry fertilizer put down before the chisel. We have not put on any NH3, but we typically do this in the spring. Two big bars can get a lot done in a hurry.

The chisel is running as I type this... It's actually working pretty good. NO frost in the ground, and the top is frozen just enough for traction (quad-trac).

There is no way we will see 90 million acres of corn, if that is what you are getting at.
