Subject: InCommand display in older Deere Combine

Near Intersection of I-35 & I-90 Southern Mn.
A while back someone asked about mounting the Ag Leader InCommand 1200 display in tractors and combines. Here is what I came up with in my Deere 9770 combine. I purchased the combine used. The original owner had used a Deere 2600 display which had been removed. The Deere pipe and mounting assembly stayed with the combine.

I was able to remove the mounting assembly from the pipe for the 2600 and left just the bare pipe. The RAM mount folks have various types/sizes of their mounting balls. I chose one that has a small base with four holes in it. I was able to use a pair of U-bolts that fit the spacing and used them to clamp the RAM ball to the Deere pipe. The top U-Bolt is visible above the USB stick. I used a short RAM arm to the ball on the back of my display and mounted it to the left.

As shown in the picture below this means the display is fairly high in the cab which eliminates glare. This height also means I don't have conflict with my bifocal lens that I might with a lower mounting position. It reduces my outside vision much less than some other mounting positions. My sun visor still works as original. It does block the radio display slightly which doesn't bother me. I'm happy with my choice of location.
