| Originally,that water heater was engineer, and manufactured by ge appliances, and became a money pit, from so many failure of water heater ,so in 2014 GE sold assembly line, stamping press and whole kit caboodle to AO smith and AO smith start manufacturing that water heater.
On the tank, it’s has 3 parts separately porcelain enamel part , then assemble the 3 part and weld it up, the enamel would fake off from heat of the weld, cause the tank to rust or enamel will cause porosity in the weld and cause a leak
That water heater is the biggest lemons
A lot GE management lost their jobs or was demoted over that water heater.
