| Do not listen to any doctor saying diet makes no difference, no matter what problem. My doctor said the same thing. (I also had U.C.) What I would try myself would be a diet of absolutely no sugar, no soda, sweetened drinks, sugary cereal, desserts, etc and even try limiting starchy foods like white bread, mashed potatoes. Take acidophilus pills, eat plain yogurt, drink buttermilk, along with a healthy type of diet (meaning cutting out the processed foods like tv dinners, frozen pizza, etc) Getting weaned off sugar, since it is in so many foods and drinks is tough. But please give it a try. You definately don't want to have to go thru intestinal surgery like I have.
