Subject: Re: Ulcerative Colitis

Silver Lake, Kansas
Mrs. Farmer here. I have the stuff. I follow a bland diet and take Colozal 3 times a day. No fried foods, no shell fish of any kind, nothing too spicy, no raw fruits or veggies except bananas (I juice and get away with it) and no whole grains. Keep a food diary and he'll find out what he can handle. The disease can be managed, but it does take a lot of time to find out what will cause a flair up and learning to avoid those foods. When I was first diagnosed I kept to the bland diet completely. Now I can have a salad a couple times a week and I'll have a few shrimp from the buffet line from time to time. But on the other hand I have learned to eat asparagus and really like it Good luck with it.
