| Well, according to NASS, the 2012 yield for the NEIA crop district was 140. There's no reason to believe that given conditions thus far and grain fill this week at 80 degrees instead of 97 degrees, that number is far too low. And somebody who is a true believer that trendline increases rule even when the water is ALL gone will be along to say the new 140 is more like 170....
My take might be that- without a pattern-changer like a state fair hurricane pushing some moisture up or a weird front that sits in place like happened in Missouri last week- we're talking about a region that could have corn perform surprisingly well but a disappointing soybean fill.
