I agree Boone. Kernel weight un the past has been very good. I will need rain in the next few days to not just hold the kernels i have out there but to fill them. 18x40 kernels on an ear doesn't mean anything if it takes 120,000 to make a bushel.

I feel like I have been pretty realistic in my thinking about how long I can hold on. Even now my corn looks OK, just shows a bunch of N and K deficiency. But this is showtime. Being dry during vegetative growth one thing, kernel fill is another deal completely.

Edit to add... the guys in eastern Fillmore county are the ones who are going to really take it in the teeth. And anyone who had a rye cover crop that didn't terminate it very early.
