Sorry to hear about your son.  I have crohn's disease which is kinda like u.c.  Diet will make a difference but certain foods affect everyone differently.  I would agree with semosandfarmer's list of ones to stay away from.  The junk food is about the only thing that doesn't fight me either!  Between that and some of the meds I've gained over 50 pounds!

I've heard that specifid carb diets help.  There is also a website that can be helpful- www.ccfacommunity.org .
