One year we had worms bad in them. Extension guy said they come from a fly that laid eggs on the cherries as they were starting to ripen. When the bad ones fall off the worm lives in the soil under the tree till next year. So the next year I had some Counter from years past. Took a hand grass seed/fert spreader and went around the trees in the spring. Haven't had a worm since.
