Subject: Poison Ivy

WCIL
My husband is cleaning a ditch. The previous owner and renter let the poison ivy go unchecked for years. We just finished our first year of owning it. We sprayed it twice this past growing season. He sprayed both the vines in the trees and at the base of the roots. So his question is: can he still get poison ivy while sawing and piling the trees up? If the plants are DEAD will the smoke be a problem too? And finally... do we cut it up for firewood for the woodburner? We would let it cure for the entire summer or two before trying to burn.

Both he and I get Poison Ivy fairly easily. He gets is so bad he has to go to the DR. I can get by with calamine. He says he had never seen poison ivy this big and bad before.
