| "Just how damned much carry over do you want to be happy? I think this billion bushels carry over crap is enough of a damper on the markets. So I ask just how much year to year carry over do you think is enough."
Is there some mandate to grow corn I'm not aware of?
"Every gallon of ethanol we can produce gets us closed to not having to do business with towelhead middle easterners. So you would rather send dollars to the arabs instead of the US Farmers."
How do you figure? If you go to 15%, what's that going to do to Corn prices, and Ethanol prices, and oil prices? We continue to find more oil, we just aren't going after it. We can do oil shale, policy simply prevents us. We continue to make huge finds of natural gas. Ethanol is EXACTLY the wrong kind of energy source. The more of it you use, the more expensive it's going to be, because the more expensive the feedstock is going to become. We've reached the economies of scale point some time ago and now we seem to be headed the other way. | |
