A few quick points:

When you say US Agriculture, do you include livestock farmers or just grain farmers?

I think livestock enterprises were built by competing on a level playing field with other end users. We do not have that today.

Were our forefathers mandated to raise feed and subsidized to do it? I'm guessing most of those fellows would be ashamed of the welfare system grain farmers have supporting them today. Special interests like this are running our country into the ground.

May be efficient and able, both arguable, but not competitive without government intervention.

When you are taking money from someone else, they do have a say in what you do and how you do it.
