SW KS, near Dodge City
The only reason people refer to bushels is b/c that's how grandpa did it. Bushels is a volumetric measurement, not what any business today uses. Your yield of 250 bu/acre this year with a test weight of 53 is the exact same amount of corn as your yield last year of 250 w/ 60 lb test weight. Why? Because if you notice, the Coop, delivery point or wherever you're hauling it buys it on WEIGHT, not bushels. Yes, it's adjusted back to bushels (using the standard 56 lbs) so you can say you hauled in 1000 bushels (instead of 56000 lbs) of corn.

Final story, 250 bu/acre is 14,000 lbs/acre of corn. Test weight will impact the VOLUME that the corn has, but not the actual amount. Lanworth is just covering their backside with this garbage.
