north central iowa
I have been contacted through the mail and by phone. I always throw them out. I ask on the phone if I have to and they say no so I respectfully decline. Life is too short to fill out government forms voluntarily. I have an aversion to anyone knowing what my yields are, what my grain inventory is, how many cattle I have on hand etc. I don't think they need to know that. I tell my banker and he is happy and I am happy. No one else needs to know. I don't question the methadology as much as I question the neccessity. I don't think I need to know how much inventory the grocery store, the implement dealer, or the restaurant has and they don't need to know mine either. It is an invasion of my privacy that does not pass constitutional muster, in my view.
