Oklahoma
I am with you all the way. We do not have a true free market. Also, I am very skeptical of this large ending stocks BS. I remember looking at a map of insurance claims for wheat last summer and there were heavy losses clear into SC KS. I just don't see how we could go from being dangerously low stocks of wheat a couple years ago and then have one good year and one disaster and have massive surpluses of wheat. Another thing I wonder is how can demand for wheat change too terribly much? People keep eating the same amount whether they are broke or not.

You are dead on about the 2010 HRW. There are thousands upon thousands of acres that got planted at the end of nov. or dec. and it is in pretty poor shape as to only moisture we have received since then is a blizzard that left about 1/2 of snow on the fields and 4ft in the road. There is a lot that needs to happen to come into the black for this years crop. 30 bu. @ $4.00 = $120 /ac. It doesn't take very long to eat that up with inputs.
