| The stocks report showed a decrease of elavator storage of corn while increase of 1 billion on farm ? http://usda.mannlib.cornell.edu/usda/current/GraiStoc/GraiStoc-01-1...
Dec 1, 08 = on farm 6,482,000; off farm 3,590,106
VS
Dec 1, 09 on farm 7,445,000; off farm 3,488,676
If you figure this crop is 5% ligher in TW then last year that would equal 5% less storage for any given bin. Factor that with the additional bushels it would equal 21% more volume of corn stored on farm! On farm soybeans are also 4% more and on farm wheat 23%
Was there that many empty bins last year, or that much new storage built? OR is it still sitting in the field?
Something just doesn't seem to add up, unless the farmers started there own grain piles. I know some of this was still in the field, but there was a lot in the field dec08 also.
