Subject: Re: Time to do away with the USDA

Ontario
There is a comment in this thread, about what we would do or believe, if the USDA number had come in at 11 billion bu for corn today.

I would not believe a 11 billion bu number either. I don't believe the 13.15 billion bu number.

HOWEVER, at this point and time in our history, USDA is the benchmark. The market will trade this number whether it is accurate or not. (To our peril or benefit.)

I find it troubling that they want to resurvey again. Just like last spring & summer when the crop was being planted and growing.

SC mentioned earlier: "today is the reaction/emotion, tommorrow begins the real trading."

Another friend basically said the same thing to me over the phone: That he would not be surprised to see next Monday's close, the same as yesterdays (Mondays')close!

Time will tell.

P.S. Also just have to say that "djmcountryboy" has not been much off the mark on the in the past 4 months with his posts on grains. Keep the thoughts coming djm!
