Northeast Missouri | I just now stumbled onto a product called AccountEdge. It looks like they are trying to do similar things to QuickBooks--for instance, AccountEdge has "Department" tags similar to QuickBooks' Classes feature. Also, it appears to support cash basis reporting in a way that's similar to QB.
Appears they are committed to AccountEdge as desktop software, but they support remote access to it, and it's also available as hosted software--i.e., similar to QB desktop.
I've downloaded a copy to play with, to see if it might be a QB replacement for me...as always, "the devil is in the details"; it may have (or lack) a feature that kills the deal.
EDIT: I thought it was only available as a $15/month subscription, but now see it's also available for a one-time fee of $699. Upgrades (to the current version) cost $299. Not cheap, but this is in line with how QB Premier used to be priced.
