| Thought I'd take a different track.
How about if these guys are only resigning to force other democrats to vote for the health care package? Maybe they aren't even real serious about resigning (I know-that is probably not real) but by doing so they make everyone realize this is the only chance for years to get 60 votes to pass healthcare/carbon tax/whatever else this year? They may be forcing the whole bucket of grain down our throats by doing this. Dodd, being Ted's buddy, might be willing to resign to see their mutual agenda passed now.
Not too many democrats are willing to be the focus of "you didn't vote for our bill and we won't have another chance for years to pass this stuff-it's all your fault we didn't get it".
Just thoughts-maybe they belong in cafe talk,
