Subject: RE: Recommendations on a wire winder, Wire Dog and others

West Central Illinois
I was given around 3 miles of 15.5 gauge hi tensile barbed wire once that was maybe only 10 yrs old, was rewound on a 3 pt wire winder. There was a reason it was free... was like a puzzle getting all that stuff untangled so it'll roll out the wire building fence. I still have maybe a half mile roll but i only mess with the stuff when building fence that i have some time to fool with it.

Of course you could always gift the wire to another young guy willing to mess with it for a "free" fence. I guess if I think about it I haven't really paid for a fence I've built last 2 years except for the handful of t posts I needed for sections through the timber, the rest are all crooked hedge line posts so i guess those were free to cut too.
