NC KS
My Dad built a wire winder when he was in high school. I don't use it any more but still use his spools. The are a couple of worn out disc blades with center cut out so it goes over oilfield pipe. 1 side welded flush and other side with a couple inches sticking out with a hole to drop a bolt through. Your drive mechanism needs to go inside that spool and have a hole for the bolt to go through.

I made my rollup drive on skidder plate but you could use receiver hitch. I use reel drive motor from combine header. Tee in a 1/4 turn hydraulic valve between pressure and return so you can control speed and shut off unit within a few feet of wire winder. Make as many spools as you want.
