| We are needing a winder to re-wind up barb wire to be used again. Wire is only 3 to 6 years old, so wanting to save it. 15 to 20 miles worth. We have skidsteer and balebed to run a winder to get in remote locations.
Fences need to be removed, but I've not seen any on the market that have appeared to easy to save wire. Fences have metal stays and T-posts. Wire could just be scrapped, but really wanting to see if it can be saved at a reasonable cost for labor and time.
My thoughts are to build a winder that has spool that can be spilt, but using say maybe a peice of say 4" pvc or abs pipe to start on spool to help hold wire spool after its made. Then using baling wire to tie it in 3 or 4 places to hold it together for stacking. Also thought of making this winder on a skid that can sit on any flatbed truck and would be held with G/N trailer ball so it could be moved to any truck easily. Could use engine drive pump or just mate it to a Honda engine.
Any thoughts would be helpful, or recommendations of machines on the market. Hyd. motor specs would be most helpful. | |
