north central Iowa, Hampton | safety Karens made me install belt guards everywhere. I looked a few places for "will-fit" and decided it was easier to make my own. I had to have what are referred to a "6-sided" guards. Basically, even if you want to, you can't touch anything that moves.
Most of the will-fit stuff was cheaply made, had several pieces that were going to be tough to take off for something as simple and regular as changing a belt.
With a little head scratching and more time than I want to admit, I can usually use flat steel for the outside hoop and expanded metal for the front and back. My goal is a two piece guard that clam shells over the pulleys. |
