One thing about those payments. They showed the income received from the government but never showed any going the other way. So if a person got a short term loan on grain and paid it back in a few months with interest, the repayment was never shown. So some of the huge payments shown were probably in large part grain loans that got either paid back or the grain forfeited to the government to satisfy the loan.
The EWG was not above hyping things well beyond the truth. Lying by omissions. | |
