About the only thing we have noticed is if the cut is too lean and we don't add some bacon or something with some fat, later that evening we might have our hand in a bag of pork rinds. Seems if we don't get enough fat, our bodies crave it of something.
Doesn't that correlate to carb/sugar "craving"? I've found that carb-heavy diet would burn through the carbs and be hungry sooner. For example, bowl of reasonable cereal for breakfast, hungry at lunch (~4 hours) and if not eating then would result in lack of focus, "being off", etc. Repeat that ~4 hour cycle.
Keto based diet, get the body burning fat and find can skip meals without even noticing. Presuming have fat to burn and feeding the body fat as well.
I'd suspect in your example above, you've burned off most of your stored fat, so your body is nudging you to fill a perceived need if you didn't get enough fat at meal time.
