Subject: Using Bourbon for marinade and basting?

West of Broken Bow
Have heard it’s excellent when marinading skirt steak for fajitas. It had been suggested to soak refrigerated meat in Bourbon for at least four hours to help tenderize it before grilling. Other ingredients are combined with the Bourbon to use as the marinade.

Question: would there be any flavor benefit to basting the meat with straight Bourbon half ways and when it’s nearly fully cooked while on the grill?

I’m also curious about marinading meat with beer.

Anyone experienced with Bourbon marinades prefer a specific brand?
