East of Dodge City, KS
I had the virus for one day, Sunday, October 30th. Slept all day. The next day, I didn't feel bad, so I drove 44 miles to town to get a prescription for Paxlovid. I was never vaccinated, never will be, and that's been the extent of it. My wife and our five adult children and spouses never fell for the shot either.

The guys I work with at the Coop, all younger than me (I'm 71), have had their shots and keep getting sick and staying home. Unreal! A lady at church told us Sunday that she and her husband had the virus for a week, and doesn't know why? They both had two shots and then two boosters. Ummmm, let me explain. The shot doesn't prevent one from getting the virus, but people don't do the research.

I don't fault people if they want to get the shot but do your research first. I feel bad for people who get it so badly that they have to go into the hospital. I know of friends who died because they went to the hospital, with the virus, and never recovered. A friend of mine, younger than me, had a cancer surgery last month, got the virus the Friday before Christmas, ended up in ICU and died there. It should be an individual's choice whether to get the shot or not. But if one is forced, coerced, or enticed to take it, that should say something. Sadly, the health care industry forced a lot of their workers against their will to take the shot and we've heard of serious health complications in some cases. I changed doctors for this very reason. My doctor chose to go independent and has been that way because of not wanting to be under the control of a medical facilities CEO. This doctor does remarkable work, has worked with thousands of patients with the virus and lost none. Sadly, typical hospital care doesn't work out that way because they are mandated to follow government protocol which is, to me, a death sentence.

In my opinion, politicians, Dr. Fauci, and the frenzied media has done a disservice to the health of our citizens on this issue.
