NC Kansas | I call it getting in the "zone". It's kinda like being and addict/alcoholic, I think. You truly have to be disciplined every day. You don't fall off the wagon and immediately see negative results like with drugs or alcohol, but you start cheating and eating the wrong things and it snowballs and you look up in 18 months and you've gained 30-40lbs. You have to be willing to be weird, like peel the toppings off a pizza and throw the crust away at a social gathering. Eat a burger without a bun when it would be easier to just eat the damn burger. Don't eat ketchup or sugar based bbq sauce (which is 95% of them). That is why the fasting pattern is so helpful. You can moderately eat what you want and maintain. If many of you are busy like me, then skipping a meal or the "ceremony" or "habit" of preparing a meal not only saves you time but keeps the weight off. Go crazy, get "in the zone" for 6 months and see where you are. If you can sustain the "zone" then keep going but at least adopt fasting from 7 pm until noon the next day and that will really help you long term. Breakfast for me, is the easiest to skip. It would save me more time in a day to skip lunch but I've found that if I eat breakfast I want lunch BAD. I can skip supper AND breakfast as easier than skipping lunch in the cycle. | |
