In your Chai tea, you might try heavy (whipping) cream instead of milk. Fat instead of so much lactose in the milk. That is a way to cut some of the carbs out yet still maintain the taste.
Whole milk, with the fat, is much better than skim or low fat milk. The fat slows the digestion and reduces the sugar spike in the blood stream from the lactose. You still get the lactose in whole milk, but it is metabolized more slowly because of the added fat.
I think a lot of people would benefit from reduced joint pain by just reducing the amount of different sugars they eat. Of course table sugar, but anything with "tose" in the word is another word for sugar of some sort. Lactose, fructose, etc.
Not everyone needs or wants to go as low carb as I do. But if they want to lose weight it is the easiest and most consistant method I have found because a person does not have to go hungry all the time like on a calorie reduced diet. | |
