SCIA | When we lived in Illinois, my wife and I put a basement under our old farm house. Since it was three different additions, we did it in two phases. Dug under the load bearing walls, from one side, past the other side, where we wanted the cribbing to go, Cribbed with treated 6x6, cut 4' in length. Rented house jacks, from a rental place Ran I beams the length of the area we were supporting jacked it up until the sills were clear of the old foundation and leveled, as some of the house was 160 years old.
Dug out the rest of the dirt. Poured footings, then a 6' stub wall. Had block guy come and run the rest up to the still plate. Set it down. Rinse and repeat. | |
