You will regret it and it will take longer than a professional contractor who will raise the house up on beams and have free access to the space without worrying about disturbing the standing house. Check all your options first. Like do you want a tile around the bottom of the new foundation for water control? Do you want poured cement walls? Do you want block walls? Do you want floor heat? Will the basement have a walkout? If not, you need window well access tubes for fire escape. Will kids be able to use this feature in an emergency? I did foam block /ICF with cement inside for my basement. You get one shot at doing it right. | |
