I really hate new year resolutions but I recommitted to eating better.  Three years ago I lost 20+ lbs but cutting out sugary foods and most things with added sugar.  I wasn't overweight and was in pretty good physical condition at the time but due to an injury I had gained 10 lbs and couldn't run it off.  I was running 20+ miles per week.  I'm just over 6' 2" and started January 2019 at close to 190 lbs and by July was under 170.  I didn't have hunger cravings, slept great, and had energy galore.  I did really good maintaining that weight for over two years but 2022 was not good for me and I'm in the upper 170s.  Right now I'm adjusting to the "embracing hunger" attitude.

Fish and Run.....I love your story and progress.  I've been looking for motivation and should just read your posts to get it.  I got a 5k in on Saturday, rowed a 5k on Sunday, did some pushups today and tomorrow will swim at the community center while my daughter is at gymnastics.

To the OP......exercise is good and helps but runners often learn and say "you can't outrun your mouth".  Fish commented that a cookie is worth 3 miles.  It's a lot easier to dream about the cookie than run three miles.....or six or 9. If you watch a hardcore runner eat they often eat a lot..........of quality high protein food, vegetables, and a few carbs.  Society wants you to eat sugar and carbs.

>>> For years I have had friends that eat like work horses and never go overweight. But that's not what happens to me.
