South Central Indiana | If no proof of purchase date they look at the serial number on the battery for date it was made. Beyond that I don't know because the one I tried for warranty was same deal no proof of date and serial number showed over 3.

Melancthon, Ontario | Ive never been asked for proof of purchase. Warrently claim was made at a different place to where I bought it.

Henderson, Minnesota | They will warranty off the serial number if it is still in warranty. They won't honor anything bought from Amazon cause they can't track them

Have you tried to jump start the batteries? I've done it with generic milwaukee batteries with success, never had a milwaukee not take a charge so far.

NC Indiana | This won't help you now but I use a paint stick to write the date and where purchased on them. I buy them for the farm so the receipts are with my tax records. Makes looking up a store receipt easier. It's surprising how fast they age. Lol

SE Michigan | I never bought a Milwaukee product directly from Milwaukee, everything I purchased has been via tool store. I had a battery go bad last year, Milwaukee replaced it no charge or receipts required. Regarding "Jump Start" - please tell me ho you did this. I have a Milwaukee battery that will not charge that is out of warranty. I would like to try since I have nothing to loose.

Central Mo | Try jumpstarting it, worked on my 9ah battery. Take a fully charged battery, use a jump wire to go from positive to positive and one from negative to negative. Let it set awhile then see if it will charge. Edited by dri 6/16/2023 07:10

SW OH | I haven't tried it yet, but it is possible to rebuild your old out of warranty batteries. They are flat top 18650s soldered together. Sometimes a deal can be found around $1 each. There are about 12 in a 5.0 battery I think. Mitchco

Mid-Michigan | Send it to them. They have been very honest with me on two of them. One was free. One wasnt.

NW Iowa | have you tried the trick where you hook jumper wires from a good battery to the one that is dead and wait a little bit and then quickly throw it on the charger?

ECMN | Tom Graham - 6/16/2023 05:29 This is what they told me. My serial number wasnt readable and they didnt care about my receipt. We normally do not honor sales from or e-bay, Inc. or Amazon.com® as being product purchased through an authorized stocking distributor. Milwaukee Electric Tool Corporation sells our products exclusively through authorized stocking Distributors that are appointed on a nonexclusive, market oriented basis to provide coverage for the various trades and industries for which we make tool and accessories. Every MILWAUKEE power tool is warranted to the original purchaser only to be free from defects in material and workmanship. And only tools purchased through an authorized stocking Distributor are warranted as being to the original purchaser… (product to be new and unused and product purchased through them is to an original purchaser). Stocking Distributors are defined as those firms that have been selected by Milwaukee to represent it in their respective areas of responsibility and who actively promote and sell the Milwaukee line. There are numerous authorized stocking Distributors / Dealers who sell via e-commerce, these authorized Milwaukee’s distributors will be found under the “FIND LOCAL” or “SHOP ONLINE”

Jeffersonville, OH | Do you have the serial number on the battery, or is it unreadable? I can punch it in my Milwaukee Service site and see if it's under warranty if you do Chris

ec IL | I had a Milwaukee battery that absouletly refused to take charge. I googled it and don't remember for sure, but I think I wired it to another battery and let it set for like 10 minutes and the it took charge again. You might google how to do that and give it a try. HTH
