Subject: Wiring required to install an electric radiator fan?

Mid-Missouri
After a year of running the 4bt cummins in the 88 Ford feed truck, I feel it is time to put a cooling fan in to prevent possible damage on a hot day. Currently, the truck does not have a fan and never overheats unless it would get stuck in a hole or constantly idling around for long periods. I would like to install an electric fan on the back side of the radiater. What wiring is required to get the fan to come on automatically when the coolant temp gets hot? Will the proper set-up allow me to fine tune when the fan will kick on? For the fan itself, I will probably find one of those around here without buying one. Thanks.
