Southeast MN | These pictures were from this morning, 10/26. Tillage radish seeded September 6th just ahead of a 3/4 soaking rain; couldn't have timed it any better. The beans were just turning and starting to drop a few leaves. The application was made by hand broadcasting, basically throwing a cupful up into the breeze as I walked along. In the corn, I tossed the seed pretty much straight up and hoped for the best as the corn was over 10 feet tall.
I was expecting to see the roots a little more developed. The tap root was quite spindly but lots of smaller roots making channels into the soil. Maybe this area is too far north or not enough daylight or seeded too heavy? There hasn't been a killing frost on the corn yet, this is SE Mn, Winona county area.
No matter how this turns out, it is an interesting concept and I will learn something from this.
