Subject: Water treatment plant lime??

South Central Kansas
Anyone here ever used lime from a water treatment plant? A farmer about 30 miles from here has been using it and applying it for other farmers for years. He says the ECC is usually 88-90% and it is very soluable.

It's $15/ton at the plant, which is higher than aglime, but it would only take about half as much, so there would be less freight and application charges. The aglime we usually get here is around 45 ECC.

Any thoughts?
