Malheur County Oregon | We finished up onion harvest about noon Saturday. Started exactly a month ago. After loading 1022 trucks, filling approx 17,000 storage crates and watching over 27 million pounds of onions go across the loader elevator. I am officially sick of harvest.
I don't want to look at anymore truck drivers and observe them lose 30 I.Q. points once the sun goes down, fight the weather, take anymore phone calls while trying to load trucks, eat soggy sandwiches for lunch, have supper at 11:00 at night, suffer from insomnia, and sit sideways in a tractor seat until next Sept 15. By then we will be excited and ready to go again.
Funny how you cant wait for harvest to start and then you cant wait for it to get over.
