Subject: ? for you real oats growers

Prairie Home MO
I sowed some feed oats for a cover crop and they were heavy oats. Bought enough on bushel basis to fill drill. Only about 2/3 full. Since oats vary so much in weight how do you figure? All other grains we sow are by the seed. What rate do you shoot for if you use seeds/lb. I know to adjust for being a cover crop and conditions. I take it that there would be a lot less seeds in 40 lb oats vs. 32 lb.. Thanks. Robert
