Subject: Another IH rotor question,(1480)

just a tish NE of central ND

I have the old standerd rotor in my 1480 with 4 elephant ears on it.There are less then 1000 acres on the ears. I am told now to use only two ears. Will this help the banging and rumbleing in green material? Do I need to use the torch on brackets or just unbolt the ears?Or should I just leave them on the rotor? TIA Steve
