Subject: TruCount air clutches...minor problem today...(PIC!)

Chebanse, IL.....

Lost all air pressure to TC clutches today. Luckily they default to PLANT position. This TruCount is on a JD 1790 16/32 planter. We ran our hoses thru the LH bracing tube of the hitch at installation. It's very crowded inside that tube (3x6?) and some of the space is occupied by hydraulic hoses running the CCS fans etc. Apparently the hydraulic hoses put out enough heat to make the little 1/4" plastic airline hoses soft. One hose blistered & ruptured from the 100# of air in it. Then all air pressure was lost.

We pulled a new hose thru the tube w/the old hose & fixed the problem. However, I'm quite sure it will happen again. It's not even that hot here (NE IL) yet.

I suspect we need to get a better grade of hose? Seems truck 1/4" airlines runs in hot places just fine w/100#+ air pressure....for thousands of mis & many yrs. These TC clutches have only a couple of days running on them. Or-one could consider running the hoses outside the tube.
