Subject: Auto steer

south east SD
I am brand new to this world!! Have not bought anything yet but I am starting to look. I know I can't get anything for spring 2008. What I really want is to auto steer a JD 9220 to put down chemical and then move it to a JD 9550 to map. That is what I want but is it worth it or can I afford it .The JD stuff is a ton of money. Is there a very good THING to buy that will work and be less trouble-sum that I should be looking at??? Ag-Leader I hear is a very good product. Maybe I should stay away from it all as I really like "SIMPLE". Should I just look at a cheap version of a pass to pass non auto steer around $1500 to just manually drive the 9220 straight and forget the rest??? Again I really like easy, hate to spend a ton of money for something that I need A PHD to run. I'm 50 and don't know if I want the aggravation. Let me hear your thoughts!! Thanks in advance...
