Subject: spraying trees for jap beetles

Trying to spray malathion on a few apple and bald cypress trees for japanese beetles with ortho dial n spray. (The kind with a plastic quart container and siphon tube for the chemical) The sprayer works fine as is for low heights, but need to spray high in the trees. So, I replaced the factory nozzle with a short section of tubing clamped to where their nozzle was, this connected to a Delavan wand. Now can spray high in the trees, only problem is that it won't siphon the Malathion out of container to mix with water. Is there too much back pressure? Sure would like to use this kind of rig instead of bringing a tractor and sprayer into the yard. Got any ideas?
