Subject: Herculex & Black Cutworm from below

Herculex I is a Dow AgroSciences patented Bt. It utilizes the Cry1F Bt protein, this Bt is the new generation and offers broader spectrum control than other Bt's currently available, Syngenta's Bt - (Bt11) is similar and also incorporates the Liberty herbicide (glufosinate ammonium) as a marker.

BLACK CUTWORM ANSWER - Poncho 250 and Cruiser seem to work well on small (young) cutworms but are not as effective on L4 and larger stages of this larvae. Where as Herculex I protects against all sizes.

Herculex I protects against:
First and second gen. European corn borer
Southwestern corn borer
Black cutworm
Fall armyworm
Western bean cutworm
Corn earworm (intermediate suppression)
It also protects against these secondary pest
Southern Corn Stalk Borer
Lesser Corn Stalk Borer
Sugarcane Borer

All companies can license this tecnology.

Herculex Xtra is a three way stack that combines Herculex I + Herculex RW Rootworm protection and Liberty tolerance.

This spring Monsanto and Dow agreed to allow Roundup technologies to be incorporated with Herculex hybrids. So now Herculex hybrids will be available with Roundup also. (there is some interesting information about this production - but I will remain mute)
