Subject: Alfalfa, putting N back in, When?

Kansas
I need a crash course on alfalfa and N put back in the soil.

I was always under the impression that alfalfa put n back in the soil as it was growing. Used what it needed, made more, put it back down in the soil to get rid of it.

Now, I have a Cargill guy that deals me my fert and such that I do not have any availble N till the root structure breaks down after I worked the patch up.

HUH?

Is he right? If I'm right can someone help please with a small article of when how and why that I can print off and shove under his nose?

Ed W. You said to give this lil greenhorn time to grow. The only thing he's growing is his pocketbook with windy stories to me I thinks. 1 time I should of paid more attention in college and didn't.

Thank You.
