north west arkansas | I have been needing to wean my calves for the last two month's and it has just been to hot and dusty to handle cattle. I have been feeding hay and protien blocks to my cows and I want to start graining my calves. I cant decide whether to just fill the creep feeders or to just put creep gates at the lots and just bunk feed the calves. I would rather bunk feed but irrigating really not leaving me time for anything else. These calves have not had any creep all year and I am afraid they will eat me out of house and home. This heat has really taken some weight off of the cattle. I am going to wean them the first break we have in thw weather. They will weigh between 5 and 7 and have one round of shots in them.
