Caraway, AR

That sometime on NAT I can link and it will be (red) active and other times I have to copy paste.

Also sometimes the post will be so wide that it goes off screen and I have to use the slidebar to read all of it.

HTML is on.

Thanks and have a good night

John

Thats what I thought at first.(that to large a pic was causing it), but on my post below the link went off screen and it wasn't active. Maybe the long link acted like a large pic.........I don't know???

Have a good day,

John

The problem of a post being too wide is easy to solve- use the Opera browser. Under "View", there is a "Fit to Width" option- turn that on, and everything is automatically scaled to the width of your monitor. And, as a bonus, Opera is more secure than any version of Internet Explorer.

John, if you are copy/pasting the link directly to the message body you need to be careful to insert a space before you paste the link (paste it after a space.)  Once it is pasted without the space it does no good to insert the space.

An example - I did a test on the test forumhttp://talk.newagtalk.com/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=17161&posts=1#M116997

But if I insert the space and then paste I get an active link http://talk.newagtalk.com/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=17161&posts=1#M116997

". . . but on my post below the link went off screen and it wasn't active."  Apparently you have edited out the link in question.  You may be correct that a long link will cover beyond the entire screen if there is not a break in the link to allow a line return, but I do not see that by narrowing this reply window.

I hope this helps.  Gary

Gary,

Thanks for the ideas. I think I will go to the test form and try the link again.

Have a good night,

John

Gary,

I went over to test forum to duplicate the event. When I entered the link without hitting the "enter" key it was not active.

When I hit the "enter" key after the link it was active.

Since I was copy/pasting the link to start with, it is quite possible that I used the mouse to curse down to the next line without hitting "enter". I will assume that was the problem.

Thanks for the encouragement,

John
